- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 40-50 saltine crackers
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with saltine crackers.
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until boiling, then simmer for 3 minutes.
- Pour caramel over crackers, spreading evenly. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on hot caramel. Wait 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate if desired. Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top before refrigerating.
- Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
