- 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- Β½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped (about ΒΌ cup)
- 2 lemons, zest and juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional garnishes: red pepper flakes, extra basil, lemon slices
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475Β°F (245Β°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- In a small bowl, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, chopped basil, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Spread ricotta cheese evenly across the pizza base. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the ricotta, then top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Pour the lemon-basil mixture evenly over the layered cheeses.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese bubbles. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispy top if desired.
- Remove from oven, let rest for a couple of minutes, then drizzle with remaining lemon-basil oil. Garnish with fresh basil, lemon slices, or red pepper flakes.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, bake on a pizza stone preheated in the oven.
- If desired, add toppings like cherry tomatoes or prosciutto before baking for extra flavor.
- Adjust the amount of lemon juice for a more or less tangy flavor.
